I was diagnosed with primary bilateral lymphedema when I 11 years old. I'm now 23 and consider myself very lucky that I am still able to exercise and lead a "normal" life. I wear thigh high compression garments daily, special garments for night time (I don't wrap anymore, but did during treatment a few years ago) and I pump.
I'd say in the last four years I've become more comfortable with my body and have come to terms with the fact that no one is perfect and I've had this disease for more of my life than not, now. I wear whatever I want without worrying if I will offend someone's eyes and brush off any weird looks I might get. I even got a blue lymphedema ribbon tattoo during Lymphedema awareness month a few years back.
