My name is Melvin Osburn. I am 80 years old. I started treatment in 2006. I didn't follow through with treatment, and went again in 2012. I had a need to do something different for myself. I was given a goal to work toward, which took me a year to reach: That goal was to again be able to wear my western boots.
Since then, I have been going to different support group meetings and letting other lymphedema patients know to follow the guidelines of a certified lymphedema therapist, and that we can have a better quality of life. I also saw the need to let people know about Lymphedema and the importance of the Lymphedema Treatment Act.
