New York State Assemblyman Michael Spano was joined by leaders in the medical and advocacy fields to unveil a state resolution to recognize October 17 as New York State Lymphedema Education and Awareness Day, in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Assemblyman was joined by doctors, nurses, therapists, patients and survivors for the announcement, which was followed by an open Public Forum to shed light on the need for improved, more comprehensive treatments and medical coverage for lymphedema.
